Evenas the date of release of superstar Rajni’s mega-project ’Enthiran: The Robot’ nears, the film’s release date has already started making medium and small producers somewhat uneasy.
The film, produced at a whopping budget of over Rs.180 crores and directed by Shankar, is likely to be released in the fourth week of September, 2010.
Rumours say that the film might release on 23rd September but some sources, close to the director’s coterie, say that the film’s release might even be postponed beyond September and might release in the first week of October. This ever-changing date of possible release of the film has put medium and small budget producers in a spot of bother.
Usually, small and medium budget films are taken off theatres at least a month or so before the release of a Rajni film, considered an occasion for carnival by the star’s legion of fans. No producer worth his money would like to risk his movie’s prospects against the irresistible baadshah of box-office i.e. Rajnikanth.
As such, since the date of release hasn’t yet been finalized, many producers are in a dilemma as to whether or not release their films now or wait for 4-5 months so that the ’Enthiran’ fever dies down and then they can hope to make some money through their films.
’Endhiran’, in the making for the past 2 years or so, has caused huge excitement and expectation among Rajni’s fans not only in Tamil Nadu but also in other part so the country and around the globe. Further delay in the release of the film would only make Rajini’s fans restless, for sure!c
